Day-to-day / short-term placements

These placements usually arise as a result of a need to cover holidays, training courses or sickness. They allow you the freedom to choose when you work, but also give you the opportunity to work at a variety of different schools and gain an insight into what’s available in your area.

Placements may only last a day, but in the case of sickness cover, could last a number of weeks. Many schools tend to request the same Support Staff to cover time and again, often leading to the offer of a permanent position.

Because bookings can be short-notice, a high degree of flexibility is required.

Long-term placements

Long-term positions often arise to cover sickness or where a permanent position may exist, but falls outside that year’s budget.

You are effectively a permanent member of staff, but will still be paid by Absolute Education and work under Absolute’s Terms of Engagement.

Long-term positions often lead to permanency.

Permanent placements

Permanent positions often arise from school expansion or retirement. Your contract will be directly with the school, and your salary will be negotiated with them.
